A Paróquia Santa Isabel de Portugal, localizada no bairro Olarias, em Ponta Grossa, é uma das comunidades mais recentes da Diocese de Ponta Grossa. Durante muitos anos, a igreja funcionou como capela, reunindo fiéis da região para celebrações, encontros pastorais e momentos de oração.

Com o crescimento da comunidade e da participação dos fiéis, a capela foi elevada à categoria de paróquia em janeiro de 2026, marcando um momento histórico para a comunidade local e fortalecendo ainda mais a presença da Igreja Católica no bairro.

Atualmente, a paróquia é conduzida pelo Padre Pedro Cláudio, que acompanha espiritualmente os fiéis e coordena as atividades pastorais da comunidade. A igreja tornou-se um importante espaço de evangelização, acolhimento e vivência da fé para as famílias da região.

A Paróquia Santa Isabel de Portugal continua crescendo com o compromisso de anunciar o Evangelho, promover a união da comunidade e fortalecer a caminhada cristã de seus fiéis.

A Padroeira – Santa Isabel de Portugal

Santa Isabel de Portugal nasceu em 1271, na Espanha, e tornou-se rainha de Portugal ao se casar com o rei Dom Dinis. Ficou conhecida por sua profunda fé, caridade e dedicação aos pobres e necessitados.

Uma das histórias mais conhecidas de sua vida é o chamado “Milagre das Rosas”. Conta-se que, ao levar pão escondido para os pobres, foi questionada pelo rei sobre o que carregava. Ao abrir o manto, os pães haviam se transformado em rosas.

Santa Isabel tornou-se um grande exemplo de caridade, paz e amor ao próximo, dedicando sua vida a ajudar os necessitados e promover a reconciliação entre as pessoas.

Foi canonizada pela Igreja e é lembrada como modelo de humildade, generosidade e serviço aos mais pobres.

Saint Elizabeth of Portugal Parish, located in the Olarias neighborhood in Ponta Grossa, is one of the newest communities in the Diocese of Ponta Grossa. For many years, the church functioned as a chapel, bringing together the faithful of the region for celebrations, pastoral gatherings, and moments of prayer.

With the growth of the community and the increasing participation of the faithful, the chapel was elevated to the status of parish in January 2026, marking a historic moment for the local community and strengthening the presence of the Catholic Church in the neighborhood.

Currently, the parish is led by Father Pedro Cláudio, who provides spiritual guidance to the faithful and coordinates the pastoral activities of the community. The church has become an important place of evangelization, welcome, and living the faith for families in the region.

Patron Saint – Saint Elizabeth of Portugal

Saint Elizabeth of Portugal was born in 1271 in Spain and became Queen of Portugal through her marriage to King Denis (Dom Dinis). She became known for her deep faith, charity, and dedication to the poor and those in need.

One of the most famous stories of her life is the “Miracle of the Roses.” According to tradition, while secretly carrying bread to the poor, the king questioned what she was hiding. When she opened her cloak, the bread had miraculously turned into roses.

Saint Elizabeth became a great example of charity, peace, and love for others, dedicating her life to helping the needy and promoting reconciliation among people.

She was later canonized by the Church and is remembered as a model of humility, generosity, and service to the poor.
